The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) is sharing a comprehensive set of federal policy priorities that have been sent to President-Elect Trump’s transition team. IDFA President and CEO Michael Dykes, D.V.M., said IDFA and its more than 300 members are looking to the new administration to help U.S. dairy drive innovation, reduce barriers to business efficiency, and open new market access around the world.
IDFA, based in Washington, D.C., represents the nation’s dairy manufacturing and marketing industry, which supports more than 3.2 million jobs that generate $49 billion in direct wages and $794 billion in overall economic impact. IDFA’s diverse membership ranges from multinational organizations to single-plant companies, from dairy companies and cooperatives to food retailers and suppliers. Together, they represent most of the milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt and cultured products, and dairy ingredients produced and marketed in the United States and sold throughout the world. IDFA advocates on behalf of America’s dairy industry to ensure its members and their employees have the tools and resources they need to provide consumers with healthy, safe, and wholesome American-made dairy products
